| About Bill Preston-Simon... (back to top) |
Bill Preston-Simon has been teaching band and arranging music for 30 years. He began arranging songs during his college years while playing polkas in the Frank Kinayski TV and Recording Orchestra. Since that time, he has written hundreds of arrangements for just about every kind of ensemble--from concert band to Tuba Quartet. During the past 30 years, he has taught band at Medford High School, Alma Area Schools, and at the present time Bill Preston-Simon teaches in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He has studied arranging with Dominic Spera, Ron Keezer, Ivar Lunde and Michael Cunningham and has received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. He has served as an adjudicator in music contests, directed bands at the Indianhead Arts Center, served as a guest clinician for jazz and concert bands, and has been published in the Leblanc Bell. His music has been chosen by WSMA and J.W. Pepper. Somehow, even with this busy schedule, Bill maintains his commitment to arranging pieces for concert bands, jazz bands, brass quintets and other smaller ensembles. |
